July 4th Happy Dance!

I finished up this San-Man design last night....Meow Missing Letter!

I made a few changes, like the cat is now a brown tabby, so I changed the letters from gray to tan to match, and also added yellow stripes to the honeybee, just for fun!

Now I can get to work on Holland...

Although I am really an OAATer at heart, I got the urge to try a rotation again. I don't work during the summer, so I have more stitching time and I'm trying 5 hour slots with a focus piece. Here's my plan:

4th of July Weekend - what are your plans?

Yes, for the U.S. it is a big weekend, but even if you're not in the U.S. what are your plans for the upcoming weekend?

Thursday evening - making pizza tonight instead of tomorrow, stitching, getting laundry done and pick DD#1 up from a friend's b-day party.

Friday - get DH & DS up so that they can put out flags for the BSA troop, get chicken ready for dinner that evening, do a lot of stitching, eat, watch dvds, get DH & DS to take flags down, wait until it...

Well, I did really well.I had to hunt around for a few of them, but they were ones that I've been wanting and with the discount that DVD was giving, I just couldn't pass it up.

From DDD, I got: War of the Worlds (original), The Canterville Ghost (with Patrick Stewart), Conan the Complete Quest (both the Barbarian & the Destroyer on 1), The Munsters - 2 movies (on 1 dvd - yeah an old tv show series), and the first season of Burn Notice.

Okay, I was just thinking of all the dvds that I have recently bought and I realized that I'd like to watch some that relate to 4th of July. But my brain seems to be fried as the only one I can think of is Independence Day (with Will Smith). What other movies would be good to watch this upcoming weekend that relate to the 4th of July? The only other ones that I can think of don't really relate to 4th of July but are fun old movies to watch - Mister Roberts, Operation Petticoat, Yours,...

I had a really busy month last month so my stitching time suffered a fair bit but I'm still really pleased with what I acheived.

Total stitching time - 85 hours 22 mins
New Starts - 2
Finishes - 4
Days of no stitching - not sure but at least 2/3

Woodland Fairie Progress - 30 June 2008

June Goal

-Work on rotation a little bit more until next weekend ( 7th ). Finished on the 21st of June.
- Then put aside and do some finishing up of projects instead. Got one ornament completely finished. Another one needs about 30 minutes of my attention.
- Possbily work on my scrap book too. Nope,...

I was good at keeping to my rotation for the first few months of the year, and got a few finishes, but now i'm bogged down in SWIP's (mainly large). I enjoy working on things when i get them out, but it seems like i hardly get anything done, before it's time to switch, and there have been no finishes in my rotation for ages. In fact, i ended up starting a whole heap of small projects just to get some finishes.

Sooooo... with 10 - 15% left to finish on my HAED QS,...

After all those specialty stitches on the Chatelaine and Papillon designs I've been working on, I needed a little break....and these are the resulting Happy Dances. Both were 2 day quickies!

Another San-Man Dinky Dozen birdie towel (for July) with some additions....by the time I've done all 12 months, my guest bath is going to be mighty festive next year!

I will be participating in a Renaissance Faire and will most likely not have much time for stitching. Although I started a new project I call "froggy" and I plan to take that with me just in case I find a minute or two to stitch.

I have received the most beautiful little needle book, with TW's unicorn on it. She included some Piecemaker needles, which I've been dying to try, and a GORGEOUS limited edition Gloriana silk in deep purples and blues. I'll try to get a pic posted, because it's all just too beautiful.

I got a lovely package in the mail today from Eileen (melantha chimera)!!

She made me a little biscornu with a pattern I've never seen before -- la la by One Star's Light. (DH says it looks like Space Invaders? ) The finishing is beautiful! Eileen says this is her first...
