4th of July Weekend - what are your plans?

Yes, for the U.S. it is a big weekend, but even if you're not in the U.S. what are your plans for the upcoming weekend?

Thursday evening - making pizza tonight instead of tomorrow, stitching, getting laundry done and pick DD#1 up from a friend's b-day party.

Friday - get DH & DS up so that they can put out flags for the BSA troop, get chicken ready for dinner that evening, do a lot of stitching, eat, watch dvds, get DH & DS to take flags down, wait until it...

Well, I did really well.I had to hunt around for a few of them, but they were ones that I've been wanting and with the discount that DVD was giving, I just couldn't pass it up.

From DDD, I got: War of the Worlds (original), The Canterville Ghost (with Patrick Stewart), Conan the Complete Quest (both the Barbarian & the Destroyer on 1), The Munsters - 2 movies (on 1 dvd - yeah an old tv show series), and the first season of Burn Notice.

Okay, I was just thinking of all the dvds that I have recently bought and I realized that I'd like to watch some that relate to 4th of July. But my brain seems to be fried as the only one I can think of is Independence Day (with Will Smith). What other movies would be good to watch this upcoming weekend that relate to the 4th of July? The only other ones that I can think of don't really relate to 4th of July but are fun old movies to watch - Mister Roberts, Operation Petticoat, Yours,...

I had a really busy month last month so my stitching time suffered a fair bit but I'm still really pleased with what I acheived.

Total stitching time - 85 hours 22 mins
New Starts - 2
Finishes - 4
Days of no stitching - not sure but at least 2/3

What are your plans for this weekend?

I will be participating in a Renaissance Faire and will most likely not have much time for stitching. Although I started a new project I call "froggy" and I plan to take that with me just in case I find a minute or two to stitch.

Tonight my daughter has a softball game and we're going to roast. The temps are supposed to get over 100!
Tomorrow there's a get together at one of the TW Bay Area Stitcher's house. I am looking forward to that.

I was coming home from spending the afternoon with my folks' for Father's Day when I ran into this: www.lodinews.com (picture of fire on the front page). It wasn't this big when I reported it to the Fire Dept. Yep - I was a good samaritan and called it in. Good thing too!

Swirly Sampler purple conversion?

A few years ago, I remember seeing a purple conversion of Bent Creek's Swirly Sampler, and I think it was on this board. I now have the chart, and I'd like to stitch it in purples, so I was wondering if anyone had the conversion or remembered who did it.

Weekend of 6/6/08 - what are your plans?

This weekend is a busy one for me.

Friday - did running around grocery shopping, had the kids home for the first day, and enjoyed the company of my folks.

Saturday - dh left early to go to flea market, shop for western shirts for my dad, make food for brunch/lunch tomorrow, go to church.

Sunday - go to oldest dd's high school graduation, come home and enjoy a day of nothing while eating munchies all day long.

I know I will be stitching sometime...

This has to be one of the most amazing cross stitch....

I've had an outstanding month this month but I suspect that has something to do with being ill and feeling extremely sick if I moved too much for a few days earlier in the month.
So I stitched for 132hrs 55mins I stuck to my goal of 2 starts and had one...

Well I started off the day feeling rather ill. Silly Doctors giving me meds that make me worse with side effects than the problem itself.

Finally got to feeling like I could get out of bed, Goofed off, then ran a bunch of errands, finished my exchange piece, will get in mail tomorrow. And have made a batch of apricot jam already. First time for me using water bath canning. The clicking I have heard sounds good so...

Ok it has been way to quiet on here for the last couple days. So what is everyone working on stitching wise, home, or whatever.

Over the weekend we got our garden all tilled and planted. I have all these lovely plants I keep going out and looking at everday saying...um hurry up and grow would ya. We also got all of our flowers planted in front of the house and in the sitting area DH made for me a couple years ago.

Stitching wise I have been working on Guardian Angel....

So, what has everyone got planned for this weekend?

For me:

Friday - make pizza dough for dinner, buy bare essentials for dinner tonight (unless dh decides otherwise), stitch, unwind a little (if not a lot)
Saturday - grocery shop if I didn't do it all last night, take dd #3 to b-day party, stitch
Sunday - sleep in, stitch, clean house if I get in the mood
Monday - take ds to Boy Scouts to put out flags for Memorial Day both in the morning and evening,...
