Star Wars Sampler

I finished the Star Wars sampler for my husband last night. He's a huge fan of the movie series, and was thrilled when I handed it to him. Now I just need to get it framed. He wants to take it to work to hang in his cubicle as a "geek, sweet geek" decoration.

The first is Brown Cat by Mary Ellen Yanich. I've done the other cat that was in the same chart(grey cat), and I've still got to add whiskers from Eclipse, my Siamese mix who is no longer with us and why I stitched it. It's still on dove grey, but the pics not the best. I'll post another when I get the whiskers added.

This is a Sue Cook design I think from the David and Charles book, "Cross Stitch Angels". I did this for the Canada Division of the Angel Quilt Project. I'll probably due at least 3 more of the monthly angels eventually.

Well, I've definitely slowed down on the number of finishes this year, but that's perfectly fine with me. Anyway, here's #33. It is by From Nancy's Needle and called Terra Cotta Celtic Knot Quilt. I really enjoyed stitching this one and adding the big button to the middle was fun because she made it with the holes large enough to be able to use a tapestry needle and 1 ply of the Watercolours.

My finishing rate has been pitiful this year, so I pulled out my wip that was closest to being done and finished it with just a few days of stitching. Here it is:

The fabric is lavender mist Belfast, although it looks kind of gray in the picture. It was a pretty quick stitch and is so pretty; I can't wait to do the other arbors.

I Finished Fern last evening, the wings were done at about the 4 hour mark on my five hour slot so i knew i would just continue on to the finish. It took about 7 hours total this round to finish all the beads and backstitching!

It took me a bit to decide whether to frame this or make a quilted hanging... I think the main factor was i couldnt find a frame to fit that i liked etc, etc etc! so i found the green fabric which is very bamboo like, which fit very well. the binding with stars i had in my fabric stash and the colours fit perfectly. I backed it with a piece that has panda bears all over, forgot to take a snap of that though.. i gave it to them yesterday and they loved it and i am really happy with how it...

I have no idea when he was started but it had to be before 2004 as he appears on my first WIP list when I started doing a rotation. He went out on the first round of the UFO RR and I did the last little bits on him Thursday & Friday.

Hawaiianna Flora Collection series

Hello!

This is what I was working on for the last few days. I've finished two of the four florwers from Hawaiianna Flora Collection series that I bought in Hawaii 2 years ago. The third one, the purple orchid, was finished in 2008. These are small designs (40H x 40W) stitched on corn yellow Aida fabric (16 cts) with unknown threads (probably DMC). They come from kits.

I got this finished a couple of weeks ago, just had to get the correct birth weight, spelling etc confirmed before committing it to thread! (been down that road before )

anyways this is a Dimensions kit that fits with the little ones jungle animals nursery that her parents did for her and it was fun to stitch too! but i am looking forward to getting back into the swing...

Started on Jan 06/08 and finished July 29/09, stitched on 32 count pale grey linen over two with DMC. the design is by The Stitching Studio based on the artwork of Sue Coleman.

Well, I did it. Finally tackled the bookmark that I've had the fibers and fabric for since we went to Nashville CATS in 2005. I used PTP - Harmony along with Dinky Dyes - Apricot, Lemon & Lime, and Mango Tango. This was a fun one to do. I don't know why I waited so long to do it.
