My A Most Noble Pursuit took first place in the cross-stitch category at the Calgary Stampede. Got a pretty red ribbon. Of course, I learned of this just a few
short days after my husband lost his job. Funny how perspectives change depending on life's situations.

Amazing how an unexpected bad event can completely ruin another minor happy event. Congrats on your win. I Hope you DH finds a better job soon.

Congrats on the ribbon Betty, but I too am sorry about your husband's job. I know how difficult that can be.
I also understand about bad news overshadowing another minor happy event. My friend's mother died the day before my 21st birthday, so even though we celebrated my birthday (and to my friend's dismay, no alcohol was involved), it was still "Soandso died yesterday" much more than "Happy birthday to me!". Oh congratulations. I have bought that pattern and haven't even attempted it yet. I never made it to Stampede this year as hubby hurt his foot 2 days
before and felt he couldn't walk around all day. Do you have a picture somewhere?
Hopefully with our economy here a new job won't be long in coming. Kari |
